I am going to put a list here of the cities I wil be in, speaking and signing, in the fall.  When I have the specific times and venues, i will post them on the calendar called "Upcoming Events" on my webiste. But for starters, because people are starting to ask, here is my schedule:

 22-23 Washington National Book Festival

2-3rd New York City

4TH Chicago

5th Iowa City

6th-7th Minneapolis/St Paul

8-9th San Francisco

10th Provo, Utah

11th Tempe, AZ

12th-Albuquerque, NM

14th Houston, TX

15th Austin, TX

16th-17th Washington DC

18th Facebook live chat

22nd Wellesley, MA

24th  Cambridge, MA

27th  Concord, MA

(And no, I don't exactly know what the Facebook Live Chat cosists of, or how it works. But I'll find out, and will let everyone know.)

Yes, it does look like a horrendous schedule, and for everyone who thinks the term "book tour" means a glitzy, glamorous thing....this should correct that impression. The good part is that whereever the city, whatever the event, I am always with a crowd that feels within minutes like friends. Poeple are interested, enthusiastic, and kind, and everyone tries to make it as easy and comfortable as possible. I cannot imagine what it must be like for a politician who has to do an even more grueling set of events and also to face taunts and jeers and hecklers.

And what a contrast to my summer life, which is so quiet and isolated. Not COMPLETELY isolated...yesterday afternoon I visited the Lakes Region Middle School to be with their wonderful Book Club (and have apple pie!)...but much of the time I am alone, and that is when I get work done. I love the solitude here among my gardens and birds (and today: woodchuck. Alfie is dying to catch him.)

See you on Oct. 14th! You are a great role model. I read your book in jr. high a year after it was published. You have inspired great minds who are finally becoming old enough to be heard. It might take a couple more years but were getting there.
